1. Who is responsible
The controller for this website is SynkTek AB, Blockstupet 6, 163 42 Spånga, Sweden (organisation number 559019-9997). You can reach us at info@synktek.com.
2. What data we process and why
Visiting this website (server logs)
When you open our website, the web server automatically processes technical data that your browser sends: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the requested page, the referring page, and browser and operating system information. We process this data to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix errors. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data is kept for 30 days.
Website statistics (Matomo)
We use Matomo, an open-source analytics tool, to understand how the website is used, for example which pages are visited and with what kind of device. Matomo runs on a server that we rent from netcup GmbH in Karlsruhe, Germany. The data is therefore not passed to a third-party analytics provider. Matomo is set up to work without cookies, so no analytics cookies or similar identifiers are stored on your device.
Matomo records page views, the referring page, browser and device information, approximate location and your IP address, which is anonymised by masking its last byte. Statistics data is kept for 180 days. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), namely our interest in understanding and improving our website. You can object to this processing at any time (see section 6).
Contacting us
If you email us, we process your email address, the content of your message and any other information you send, in order to answer your request and manage the business relationship. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract or pre-contractual steps, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in answering enquiries). We delete correspondence when it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention duties apply.
Links to other websites
Our website links to our LinkedIn page. Merely visiting our website does not send data to LinkedIn. If you click the link, LinkedIn’s own privacy policy applies.
3. Cookies
Our analytics tool is configured to work without cookies. Visitors to our website are not asked to accept cookies because the website does not store analytics or advertising cookies on your device. Cookies are only used when our own staff log in to the website administration.
4. Who receives your data
Our hosting provider, netcup GmbH, Karlsruhe, Germany, hosts the website and Matomo and processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. We do not sell your personal data. We disclose data to authorities only where we are legally obliged to do so.
5. Transfers outside the EU/EEA
We do not transfer personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- have the processing of your data restricted;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- object to processing that is based on our legitimate interests;
- withdraw a consent you have given, at any time, with effect for the future.
To exercise your rights, email us at info@synktek.com.
7. Complaints
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Sweden this is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY, www.imy.se). You may also contact the authority in your own country.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website or the law changes. The current version is always published on this page.
